WebDav Target and BA7002 Could not back up catalogue

Postby Madmerlin » Fri Mar 23, 2018 2:34 am

I have been testing the new WebDAV Target of the just released 10.3.0 version of BackupAssist. Initial tests have been good until the end where I get the following error.

BA7002 Could not back up catalogue

This is a consistent error that happens every time I run a backup targeting the WebDAV storage server. And it happens on different servers where I am testing this new BackupAssist feature. Then subsequent backup jobs run very very slowly.

The WebDAV backup storage is provided by a QNAP NAS.

If there is a solution for this problem please reply.

Thanks...

Additional information... (reference Backup Logs below)

After my initial backup I re-ran the job. It again failed with the same error. The job took 1 hour 6 minutes just to verify that all the data was up to date. It backed up zero files as you can see from the Backup Log below. It was 30 minutes into the backup when it put the checkmark next to Back up Volume C:\ and started generating the catalog, so that means generating the catalog took 30 minutes. To me these times seem to be quite long. These test backups are just a small portion of what my production backup job will be.

Hi there

Please use support@backupassist.com for ongoing support issues rather than a forum.

If this is not a once off issue as described in https://www.backupassist.com/support/en ... ght=BA7002, you will need to submit diagnostics with the previous backups to allow us to investigate further the issues you're experiencing.

The steps to do this are as follows:
1. Open BackupAssist.
2. Click on the Help menu across the top of the console.
3. Click on Contact Support.
4. Enter the details asked for:

Valid E-mail Address: (so we know where to send our answer to your question).
Subject: Brief overview of your query.

Message: A detailed overview of exactly what your query is about. The more information you give here will make it easier for our support team to assist you.

Make sure the tick box stating 'Submit system diagnostics to help our support team with your query' is ticked and this will zip all your BackupAssist settings so that we can review these specifically for your environment.

If you have any issues using our automated support tool please follow these steps to manually send in your diagnostics file:

Browse to the following folder on your system:

C:\Program Files (x86)\BackupAssist vX (where X is the version number you're running)

Look for a file named BackupAssistDiagnostics.zip and send this to us directly.

If you find that this file is too large to email directly; please upload directly to our support team via http://www.backupassist.com/BackupAssis ... submit.php.
Please note that there is a 50MB file size limit.

If you have issues getting the diagnostics across to us, then please let us know as we'll need to find an alternative way to receive these.

Please feel free to contact me should you have additional queries or comments - I'd be glad to assist you.

Kind regards,
Roberto Puglielli
