Unable to communicate with the tape drive

Dear sir/madame:

After changing our tape drive (upgraded from a Lto2 tape drive to a LTO3 IBM Ultrium drive) we can no longer backup the system state (Windows Server 2003), we get the message "The backup operation was not attempted because BackupAssist was unable to communicate with the tape drive. Please check your tape drive is installed properly".

We have a full backup scheduled from monday to friday, in overwrite mode, without the system state. On Saturdays que backup only the system state in append mode, using the same tape that is installed on friday.

This message only appears when we try to backup the system state, and all the others backup jobs are ok.

If I use a new, prepared tape, and try to backup the system state, I get the same error message.

Any ideas?
