Centralized Monitoring Setup
Centralized Monitoring allows Resellers who have multiple clients to receive one backup summary email per day instead of one per BackupAssist installation. The Centralized Monitoring Setup is used to register a BackupAssist installation with your Centralized Monitoring account. This registration is performed on each BackupAssist installation, and the backup jobs selected will be added to the Centralized Monitoring Console (CMC).
To configure Centralized Monitoring , follow the steps below:
- Open BackupAssist.
- Select the Remote tab.
- Select Centralized Monitoring Setup
- Select Activate Centralized Monitoring.
- Enter your reseller account information.
- The Account ID is your CMC account number.
- The Authorization Key is the password BackupAssist uses to authenticate with the CMC account.
- The Organization name is the name of the organization whose computer uses this installation of BackupAssist.
- Select Register
- Select the backups you want the Centralized Monitoring Console to monitor.
- Select Web Proxy Settings and fill in the details, if you use a proxy to connect to the internet. To learn more, see Proxy settings
- Select Don't send complete backup report to CMC if you want to provide a customer with a basic CMC report instead of the full report. This is for customers concerned about privacy, and who want to avoid accidentally sending user, environment or other privacy / security information to a 3rd party by mistake. The basic report shows time of the backup, if is succeeded or failed, and any error messages received.
- Select OK.
You must have been issued with an account by the BackupAssist Sales team when you signed up as a Gold Reseller of BackupAssist. If you are unsure of these details, please contact support.
If the credentials are correct, you will receive a confirmation message.
Your Centralized Monitoring Console is now ready to use.
